Set on the banks of the majestic Hudson River, the city of Newburgh is conveniently located along New York State Highway 17K, just minutes from Interstate 84 and the New York State Thruway.
Newburgh is a diverse community that welcomes visitors to experience its historic landmarks and beautiful waterfront. Newburgh is also home to many historical sites, including the Crawford House (a maritime collection listed on the National Registry of Historic Places) on 189 Montgomery Street, the New Windsor Cantonment (the site of Continental Army encampment circa 1782-1783) located on Temple Hill Road and Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site, a national landmark that was the headquarters for George Washington from 1782-1783. The famous house on 84 Liberty Street features an adjacent museum and is open from mid-April through October.
